Who are we?
The Arts Society Ballinger provides lectures, study days and visits relating to all aspects of the arts and contrubutes to the conservation of our national heritage.
Founded in 1998, we are one of more than 300 autonomous local societies spread across the United Kingdom and overseas; each local society is an affiliate of the umbrella organisation, The Arts Society. The Arts Society is a charity founded to preserve and promote our national artistic heritage.
Our accredited speakers are drawn from a directory maintained by The Arts Society, and are carefully selected. They are all experts in their own specialist field of the arts and never fail to interest and delight.
In addition to our monthly meetings we organise coach outings to historic houses, gardens, art galleries etc.

Our Unique Venue - Ballinger War Memorial Hall
The Hall was built in 1924 to commemorate the sacrifice made by local residents in the First World War and to serve as a community focal point for the villages of Ballinger, South Heath, Potter Row and Pednor.
Today it provides the meeting place for various community groups including the Arts Society Ballinger. Visiting lecturers invariably comment positively upon the hall's arcihtecture and environment; for them it is often a wistful reminder of a rural heritage that has begun to diminish.
This image was taken on a Study Day about "The Pottery Girls" and our lecturer was the Antique Roadshow's own Paul Atterbury.
