Our Members and their volunteering work lies at the heart of everything we do, helping to preserve and celebrate the arts and heritage for future generations.

In return, the volunteering opportunities open to Arts Society Members bring friendship, new experiences, fresh skills, and the satisfaction of knowing you are making a lasting impact.

If you have an idea for a new volunteering initiative we would love to hear about it, so send us an email: volunteering@theartssociety.org

Heritage Volunteering

Discover opportunities to work alongside curators and heritage professionals at museums, archives, gardens and historic houses, gaining behind-the-scenes access to some of the UK's most fascinating heritage sites.

From conserving books and archives to supporting research projects in historic parks and gardens, Heritage Volunteers play an important role in protecting our shared heritage for future generations. Expert training is provided, and volunteers contribute in a variety of roles, including conservation, stewardship, research and collections care.

Many of our Member Societies are already involved in Heritage Volunteering projects, and are keen to hear from anyone interested in supporting them.
