This lecture revives forgotten British musicals, exploring their unique style, creators, and cultural impact from 1920s–60s, using audio video examples to reveal the era’s vibrant, distinctive West End legacy for audiences.
John has given talks for, among others, the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, the Garsington and Glyndebourne festivals and for BBC radio. For twenty years he worked for the Royal Opera House. He currently lectures at Goldsmiths, University of London.
