Introduction

Arts Society Diss is a charitable society, founded in 1990, which offers its members (now over 200) a wide range of possible activities. We meet monthly (from September to June) for a course of illustrated talks, with speakers drawn from a central resource and subject to rigorous selection. They are always of a high standard. This programme is carefully tailored to meet members' interests and is based upon regular feedback. We usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month in the Corn Hall, Diss.

Coffee and Tea (as well as light lunches) are available at the Diss Corn Hall, providing an opportunity to meet other members, and the talks begin at 2.00 pm. To sample the experience simply turn up and introduce yourself to one of the stewards on the door. We invite visitors to donate a small amount to offset our expenses, currently £8.00. We hope this may persuade you to join us and full details are given under Joining Us.

The annual subscription for 2026/2027 is £45, or £90 for a couple - compare that with the cost of a single theatre ticket!

About the Corn Hall

Located in the historic market town of Diss on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk, and at the gateway to the Waveney Valley, the Corn Hall is an impressive Grade II listed building which was originally built as a corn exchange. The Corn Hall is now a thriving arts venue offering a wide range of quality entertainment. The Corn Hall’s popularity with audiences from across the region has resulted in it being shortlisted in the Norfolk Arts Awards People’s Choice Best Venue. The Corn Hall is run by the Diss Corn Hall Trust which is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the performing arts.

We are pleased to be able to hold our lectures here, and enjoy the professional support of the audio-visual team. Before the lectures, the cafe offers a range of drinks and light lunches .
